Plus, there were posibilities to make huge mistakes when I was very tired, because I was drawing everything only 2D. I had put dimensions to every bar, to every element, to make my own bar marks and so on. When I was using AutoCAD, drawing reinforcement plans was the biggest nightmare I ever had. You can create various types of windows and doors and you can save those macros into the software’s data base and use them later.Īllplan really made me happy when we started using the Engineering module with reinforcing of the elements. I find very interesting the fact that with Allplan you can creat macros when you represent the windows and doors. And also we didn’t make the foundations and elevations (infrastructure). When I took the picture, we didn’t make the roof yet.

Allplan 2014 update software#
The software uses the classic method from Descriptive Geometry in determining the slopes of the roof. Practically, by only very few clicks you establish the correct shape of the roof without killing your mind on how the bisectors intersect. For the walls you can set them to have 1 to 5 layers and choose the materials, the priority of the building works (this is for when you make the reports), the texture in 3D and the style (meaning line type, line weight, hatch to represent the element). This module allows you to draw walls, stairs, doors, windows, roofs, columns, beams, slabs, everything a building has. This module makes your life 90% easier, especially if you are an architect. And to make it even more interesting, I have added different textures: glass, metal, wood and so on.Īfter playing a little with lines and bodies, the next day we have started using the Architecture module. This is how I drew the vessel in Allplan. In the beginning I draw a 3D vessel using the function 3D line and then body formed around a rotation axis.
Allplan has a module where you can draw 2D shapes and a module where you can draw 3D shapes. I will talk in detail about the modules I have used mostly in the 3 day course. Luckly, Allplan 2013 isn’t that strict when it comes to system requierments, because it can also work on Windows Vista with Service Pack 2.
Allplan 2014 update install#
Because my laptop is very old, meaning that when I bought it about 6 years ago, Windows 7 was in beta version (it had just been released) it uses Windows Vista and doesn’t support Windows 7 so I couldn’t upgrade and I couldn’t bring my laptop with me to install Allplan 2014.

The instructor worked with us on Allplan 2014 which needs at least Windows 7 or Windows 8 to work properly. Nemetschek Allplan is quite picky when it comes to system requierments, because it works both in 2D and 3D. ? And because I have finally laid my hands on this software, I have decided to write my personal opinion about it.
